RECLAIMED WATER

Reclaimed water is the product of an intense purification of wastewater at the EWD Water Reclamation Facility.  EWD is committed to 100% reuse of its reclaimed water, now and in the future.  EWD has recently improved its reuse system to include a Water Reclamation Pump Station and a new Booster Station. A mural is being painted on the pump station by local artist Colleen Henry.  The theme of the mural is the Water Cycle

Eagle Preserve, Myakka Pines Golf Club, Boca Royale Golf Club, Oyster Creek Golf Course, Lemon Bay High Schoool (Athletic Fields) Oyster Creek Regional Park, the Englewood Sports Complex and Thomas Ranch, are now using reclaimed water for irrigation.  We also have many residential and one commercial reuse customers.  Some of these customers are, Oak Forest, Park Forest, Boca Royale Country Club, Stillwater Subdivision and Wal-Mart.

Many of these projects have been funded through SWFWMD (Southwest Florida Water Management District) matching funds grants.
